The aim of our website is to provide retired members with the latest information at the touch of a button, whilst providing additional links to the National Association of Retired Fire Fighters, Fire Fighters Charity and local Welfare Support Group services.
Pensioners Association meetings in Avon take place on a six monthly basis, with various events throughout the year, enabling members the opportunity to socialise and catch up with the latest information and developments within the Fire & Rescue Service community.
Joining as a member of the Avon Fire & Rescue Service Pensioners Association will automatically give you membership of the National Association of Retired Firefighters. As a member of NARF you will receive regular magazines to keep you in touch with the many changes in the service. National officials currently serve on the Public Service Pensioners’ Council, an extremely influential body who represent pensioners nationwide. National Officers are also available to give members advice on pensions, income tax, legal issues and state benefits.
We are currently building an online historical archive, depicting life in the Fire Brigade throughout the Avon area, with photographs and documents recording events from the early twentieth century up to and including the present day. If you have archive material, stories or articles you would like to share with other members, please feel free to get in touch with us at any time. Alternatively, we are able to offer you safe and secure storage of archive material, should you wish to donate any items to the Avon Fire & Rescue Service Pensioners Association.
