Position: Whole-time Firefighter.
Derek joined the Gloucestershire Fire Brigade in 1966, and subsequently the Avon Fire Brigade on Local Government Re organisation in 1974, serving as a member of White Watch at Patchway Fire Station, contributing to station life as a FSNBF rep and a Social Club committee member for many years, until his retirement on 1st September 1991. Derek was an active member of the Avon Fire & Rescue Service Pensioners Association.
