Patrick (Pat) Jones aged 82 passed away on 17th February 2024 at Southmead Hospital following a long battle with lung disease (IPF).
Pat joined the Fire brigade in 1965 after his short career in the army. Once he joined the then Bristol Fire brigade he moved from Devon up to Bristol with Lorna & and settled in Henbury. Over the years Pat became a very proud father of Mark, Mike & a lovely daughter Krista. He served at Avonmouth his entire career on White watch. Became a very competent Coxswain Aquanaut Fireboat moored in Avonmouth Docks, Pat retired in 1994. He also progressed to being a very competent Coxswain instructor teaching many young would be sailors. Following his retirement from the brigade Pat had a successful gardening business. He enjoyed touring caravan holidays with Lorna. Pat & Lorna also enjoyed cruises both with the Fire Brigade organised trips & alone together
The funeral is on Friday 8th March, 11.15am at Canford Crematorium, Canford Lane, Westbury-on-Trym Bristol BS9 3PQ. All are welcome following the funeral at the BAWA club 589 Southmead Road, Bristol BS37 7RG.
