Terry Clapp – 23.05.2025

Former Fire Officer Terry Clapp passed away 23rd May 2025 peacefully at home.

Terry was Weston born on the 1st October 1933, he was educated at Worle and the local college. It was whilst he served in the RAF that he first experienced fire fighting and when he left the service he joined Weston-s-Mare fire service Somerset, in those days at Beach road, years of steady promotion followed and in 1963 he became a Station Officer, culminating in 1972 where he became the Officer in Charge, by this time the Station had moved to Milton Avenue its current home. With the creation of County of Avon, Terry became a fire prevention officer for the area of Weston and South Bristol. He retired after 29 years’ service.Many Hoteliers will remember the help he gave them with the new fire regulations.He had many interests in the community with many Organisations benefitting from his support.

Funeral is on Tuesday 24th June at 12.30pm Weston-s-Mare Crematorium, Ebdon Road, Worle, Weston-s-Mare.BS22 9NY. The wake afterwards at Worlebury golf club. Please inform me if anyone wishes to attend.
