John Lawes aged 92 passed away on 3th March 2026
John passed away after a short illness on 3rd March aged 92 and will be much missed by his wife Maureen (Mo), Sons Steve & Keith, Daughter Anne and their six grandchildren.
John joined Bristol Fire Brigade in 1959 and served at Speedwell, Yate, B7 Kingswood where he was Station Officer 1975 -1985. Then ADO at Temple working on the Emergency Planning project. During his service, he was also involved with the retained training at other stations including Paulton.
He retired in 1988.
John enjoyed being a firefighter and was proud to serve and even more proud of the colleagues he served with.
The funeral is on April 20th at 2 pm in the Woodlands chapel at Westerleigh Crematorium. Afterwards everyone is also invited to share memories of John in the Hospitality suite.
