Location: Avon Fire Brigade

Position: Wholetime Station Officer

Phil spent most of his service at Weston-Super-Mare fire station. He dedicated his life to raising money for many charities including many thousands of pounds for Firefighters Charity (formerly Fire Services National Benevolent Fund), undertaking an array of activities including cycling from John O’Groats to Lands End, swam lake Windermere, ran up Ben Nevis and swam Loch Ness. He was know as the “Iron Man” to earn this title he had partake in three events on straight after the other a two mile swim at sea, followed my a 26 mile Marathon, ending up with a 50 mile bike ride. Following his retirement on 01.02.1998 he moved to Llandrindod Wells and continued to raise money for Multiple Sclerosis and the Ethiopian Appeal.
