Terry Gillen – 09.02.2016

terry-gillen-1931-2016Terence (Terry) Sinclair Gillen passed away on 9th February 2016 aged 84 years.

Terry joined the Royal Navy at 16, and met his wife Doreen a year later, they were married in 1951 and had two sons, Paul and Mark. After leaving the Navy Terry joined the Bristol Fire Brigade was initially stationed at Bridewell and then Speedwell finishing his service at Bath as a Station Officer, finally retiring in 1986.

Terry joined the Pensioners Association both locally and at District level, he became very involved with the association particularly in relations the for Fire Fighters Pension Scheme, of which he was very knowledgeable assisting many members and Widows with issues that arose, he was still an active member at the time of his passing, a period spanning 30 years
