Richard (Dick) Bean – 05.12.2017

Former Divisional Officer Richard Charles Bean, who unexpectedly passed away on the 5th of December 2017.  He had had a short illness beforehand and he died peacefully at home surrounded by his dogs and the things he loved.  Cause of death has been determined as a heart attack.

Richard, who was 81 years of age, served for 30 years for the Bristol Fire Brigade, at the Staff College in Moreton-in-Marsh and in Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue.  He retired in 1992 and is survived by one son, Philip and two grandchildren, Dexter and Serena.

The funeral is being held today in Exeter (Monday 18th December at 1515hrs at the East Devon Crematorium, London Rd, Strete Ralegh, Whimple, Exeter EX5 2PT.  Family and Friends are welcome.  After the service a wake will be held at the Thirsty Farmer, Broadclyst Road, Whimple, Devon EX5 2QQ). Apologies for the short notice as we only received confirmation over the weekend.
