It is with much sadness that I wish to inform you of the death of former Assistant Divisional Officer Glyn James Jones who passed away in Bath Royal United Hospital on Friday 9th February 2018, aged 85 years.
Glyn joined the Fire Brigade in 1972 and was serving at “B” Division Headquarters, Bath when he retired on 5th August 1989. After leaving the army, Glyn started his Fire Service career at Warwickshire FRS in 1955 and then North Yorkshire before joining Avon Fire Brigade.
All former colleagues and friends are welcome to join the family to pay their respects to Glyn whose funeral service will be held at Haycombe Crematorium, Bath on Tuesday 27th February at 1pm, followed by a gathering at Saltford Golf Club.
The family have requested there be no flowers, but would welcome donations to the Royal United Hospital Bath “Forever Friends Appeal” in memory of Glyn.
