Peter Shilton – 08.10.2019

It is with much sadness that we wish to inform you of the death of former Senior Divisional Officer Peter Shilton aged 73, on the 8th October 2019.

Peter’s funeral will take place at St James church in Tytherington, South Gloucestershire on Wednesday 30th October at 11am. The service will be followed by a family burial in the church yard. Attendees are welcome to join the family and Simon in the Swan pub in Tytherington after the service. Peter has asked for family flowers only and should anyone wish to do so, to make a donation to cancer research in his name.

10-5-65 Joined City of Nottingham Fire Brigade (served at several different operational fire stations and Fire Prevention)

23-04-73 Joined the City of Bath Fire Brigade as Brigade Training Officer

01-04-74 Transferred to County of Avon Fire Brigade (HQ Staff)

1974-  20-09-05 Served in various roles including A4 Severnside, A5 Patchway, Technical Services, A,B,C Divisions Fire Prevention, S Division, special projects, Brigade Training and led on the formal investigation into the fatal fire at Leo’s Supermarket before retiring as a Senior Divisional Officer in HQ.
