The Pensioners Association has a well established and dedicated team of Volunteers who serve with the Avon Welfare Support Group, regularly visiting colleagues at home or during their time in Hospital.

Don worked tirelessly for the Firefighter’s Charity (formerly Fire Services National Benevolent Fund), and with his wife Janet, used their camper van as a mobile shop at events, raising thousands of pounds for the fund. He was a Leading Firefighter at Weston-Super-Mare Station, when he retired in March 1992
