Norman Ryley – 30.03.2015

Norman Ryley. Was the Officer in Charge of Blagdon Fire Station, retiring in April 2014. He passed away on Thursday 26th March 2015 following a long illness, aged 66 years, five days before his 67th Birthday, leaving a wife Teresa.

Norman, who only retired last April, served 49 years as a retained firefighter stationed at Blagdon and originally joined Somerset County Fire Brigade 1965 just 17 years old.

He was very well respected in the village of Blagdon and will be much missed. Funeral service is at South Bristol Crematorium on Thursday 9th April at 10.30am. Family and Fire Service colleagues welcome.
