Tom Hale – 29.07.2018

Tom Hale aged 89 years, passed away on 29th July 2018 following a long illness.

Tom Joined the Bristol Fire Brigade and served at most Bristol stations, rising through the ranks retiring as the Brigade Training Officer. Tom’s claim to fame was that he gained permission from the Fire Authority to use derelict houses for realistic fire training for recruits. Tom retired in January 1979 and moved to Shaldon in Devon where a few other members of the Service had retired to. Tom’s wife Joan pre-deceased him.
