The Pensioners Association has a well established and dedicated team of Volunteers who serve with the Avon Welfare Support Group, regularly visiting colleagues at home or during their time in Hospital.

Iris Taylor passed away on 2nd April 2019.
Iris joined the Bristol Fire Brigade as a Control Room operator and move to Avon when the new H.Q. Building opened in 1973. Following her retirement Iris took on the role of Brigade Personnel Officer in Establishments. eventually retiring to Weston Super Mare with her husband Robert, who was a Station Officer in the Bristol & Avon Fire Brigades.
