Tom King died at home on June 20th aged 74 years. He served as a firefighter from 1963 – 1990. He started his career with Hertfordshire Fire Service aged 18 based at Watford, and moved to Weston-super-Mare when Avon was formed in 1975. He was a firefighter and leading firefighter at Watford, then rider station officer and Fire Prevention Officer in Weston Fire Safety.
He retired in 1990 and set up his fire consultancy business, Tom King Fire Prevention Services which he ran right up to the point of diagnosis with Non Hodgkins Lymphoma in Autumn 2018.
He was married to Jill for 53 years and he had two daughters, Gemma and Vicki. He had one granddaughter, Alice.
His funeral is on 7th July at Weston crematorium.
