Philip (Phil) Clark – 09.03.2023

Philip (Phil) Clark, aged 78, who sadly passed away on 9th March after a long illness at Avon Lodge Care Home.

Phil joined the Merseyside/ Liverpool Fire Service in 1964, then in 1969 he and his wife decided they wanted a change and Phil wrote to several Brigades hoping to transfer. From those who answered, Phil stuck a pin in the map and ended up in Bristol. 

Phil was stationed at Speedwell Fire Station and following an incident in St George at which Phil carried out a rescue, he was awarded a CFO Commendation. 

In the late 1970’s Phil was seconded to The Fire Service Technical College as an ADO and was attached to the Operational Faculty – Shipping. 

Following his secondment, Phil served in A Div Fire Safety and the Brigade Training Dept retiring as a Divisional Officer in 1994.
