We have received notification of the death of AF&RS pensioner Michael William Toghill, aged 66 years, who has sadly passed away on 14th March after a short illness.
Michael began his career with Avon FRS from 1976 -1983, serving on Red Watch at Bath Fire Station, as a Firefighter. He then transferred to Staffordshire FRS and served from 1983- 1996 at Leek Fire Station as a Leading Firefighter and then at London Fire Brigade from 1996- 2008, at Bow and Plaistow Fire Stations as a Station Officer.
Our thoughts are with Michael’s widow Christine Toghill, daughters Sabrina and Fiona, and grandchildren Logan, Jake, Aster, Paige and Faye, and families at this sad time.
In retirement Michael was extremely dedicated to golf and played most days at Westwood Golf Club in Leek, Staffordshire.
The family still have a close link to Bath where Michael’s mum Dorothy, still lives in the family home in Bathampton. He also has 3 sisters.

No Flowers please, however donations if you wish to Cancer Research UK, Douglas MacMillan or Marie Curie. Please note there is a Private Cremation the following morning, family only.
